TV can affect both men and women; it is caused by a tiny parasite which is found in the vagina in women, and in the urethra in men. It is highly infectious and usually sexually transmitted.
People with TV may not have any symptoms, if symptoms are present they may include:
For men:
Pain and burning when passing urine
A white discharge from the penis
For women:
Vaginal discharge which may be greenish or smell
Pain when passing urine
Pain during sex
Condoms are the best way to reduce your chances of getting TV.
Treatment for TV involves antibiotics.
